Project P.I.T.T. Anomaly Guide: Phase 4 Product

The Anomaly is the last product tier and the strangest — the machine the shop adds when the game has run out of normal things to sell you.

Unlocking anomalies

Same rule as every product: feed, explore, buy when the terminal adds it. The Anomaly unlock arrives in Phase 4, after piñatas. Buying it pops WEIRD! (18.2% of players). The 100% guide’s advice stands: don’t skip a weird new machine because the name looks optional — CONSUMERISM! needs it anyway, and so does the endgame economy.

There are also Anomaly Gambling Crates — the fourth crate type, which drop anomalies when broken with a pickaxe or automated bat.

What anomalies are for

  1. The money endgame. Later products out-earn earlier ones; anomalies are the top of the product ladder, and RICH! ($1 trillion) is priced accordingly.
  2. The percent pipe. The upstairs chute counts higher-quality items for significantly more, and several players report anomalies as the reliable way to move that meter — one popular walkthrough flatly recommends coming back with anomalies if the pipe won’t budge. The game never names the requirement on-screen, so the safe phrasing: better products move it more, anomalies move it most.
  3. The Access Card. Under the UV flashlight, the Anomaly Crafter reveals a hidden interaction: it accepts a pickaxe and produces the access card that unlocks the elevator keypad. This is step 8 of the secret route.

Automating anomalies

The community Phase 4 build feeds ducks through a panel tunnel into the anomaly machine, with a level-2 magnet + shifter diverting part of the register stream to a second cannon so the auto-crafters don’t clog each other. The general shapes are on the automation page — by Phase 4 you are mostly routing between machines rather than into the pit directly.

Quick answers

  • “Is the anomaly worth it?” Yes — it’s required for CONSUMERISM! and is the best pipe food.
  • “Anomaly recipe?” The crafter takes standard input like other machines; its one secret recipe is pickaxe → access card, UV-gated.
  • “Where’s the anomaly crate?” Same hunt as all gambling crates — and the anomaly type is the late-game one, so finish the hunt before dumping unopened crates.
